An early Halloween treat...

Since I seem to be The Last Man On Earth possessing a copy of spooky anthology Baleful Beasts and Eerie Creatures, a scanner, and an Internet connection, I thought I'd update one of my earliest posts on favorite short story The Patchwork Monkey (Beverly Butler, 1976) with scans of the complete text.

Happy reading.

The Patchwork Monkey!

I started following your blog just recently, and I had no idea anyone else had ever heard of this story. It scared the crap out of me when I was a kid.

I finally tracked a copy of Baleful Beasts and Eerie Creatures on eBay a few years back. I proudly displayed it to my friends, who'd never heard of the book, but respected my years-long quest to acquire it. :D

I finally got a copy too! For less than a week's salary! It's everything I remember it, and more. Damn patchwork monkey still gives me nightmares.
